The Story So Far…
Formed in 2007, heavily influenced by their punk rock roots. Their first release (EP) Demonology 101 (2010), was a raw metal/punk crossover. After numerous setbacks and line up changes, the band finally released their follow up and debut album, Bring on the Doom (2015). This showcased a more focused sound, better production and a maturing band.
During the touring cycle for Bring on the Doom, drummer Dave Godfrey, (currently with Meshiaak) departed the band. While looking for a replacement, guitarist Rue Power had a near death experience, requiring emergency surgery to save his life. At this point the band weren’t sure if he would ever take the stage again, so went into semi-permanent hiatus.
By the start of 2017, Rue’s health improved and Dean Lewer (ex Horizon’s Edge) came into the fold on drums. This marked the second coming of the band and a shift in style. Over 2017 and 2018 Demonhead released two new singles, ‘No More’ and ‘Behind the Mirror’. These showcased their new direction which combined a more focused, serious sound, while still retaining the same melodic sensibilities.
2019 marks the release of their Sophomore album ‘Black Devil Lies’, recorded by Chris Themelco at Monolith Studios. Black Devil Lies sees the band taking all the negative energy and setbacks of the previous few years and channelling them into a more refined, heavier and darker sound.
